    A digital camera operates, basically, on similar principles to its predecessor, the traditional, analogue camera, insofar as light is focussed, by a series of lenses, to form an image, which is then recorded. This, however, very much simplifies the situation, because instead of using photochemical methods, and a film, digital cameras record images in electronic, or digital, form.
