Top Four Marriage Issues

Posted By: | Posted On: | Article ID:

Each year, the experts are touting the latest lists of normal marriage issues. While top 10 lists regularly appear, it seemed easier to focus on the top four issues that appear regularly. They should be fairly obvious once you see them. More importantly, you will likely agree that these issues deserve top billing on any list.
Almost every top four list begins by listing money as number one. More than any other problem, money seems to be the one people fight over the most. Very often, money issues are more about control, and can manifest in the preference for separate bank account. Basically, when one wants one, the other is against it for various reasons. What's interesting to note is that experts suggest that you may not argue as much about finances if you have ready access to your own source of cash. Of course, the negative side of this comes into focus when one spouse decides to make hefty purchases without consulting the other. It is really essential to get approval before making such big buys. Another factor that contributes to marriage issues about money involves lack of communication about them. This lack of regard for financial stability may even produce debt troubles for the couple if they're not careful.
It isn't a surprise to most of you that sex is the second highest of the top four marriage issues. The top reason this was a problem was because of a lack of sex. The available statistics list both men and women as ranking sex as a serious issue, with men representing the great number. The conclusion was that they both want more sex more often. The other serious problem dealt more with the man's use of pornography in the marriage. A large volume of men admitted to visiting strip clubs and porn sites on the web despite their wives' objections. Of course, the issue was also made worse when unsuspecting women learned what their husbands were doing.
A unexpected third on the top 4 list of marriage issues was in-laws. Often, one or both spouses have families that compound difficulties in the marriage. Bad behavior by in-laws has been known to completely demolish marriages. It seems women and men are equally at fault for this. In most cases, it is about the family trying to stay too involved in the couple's affairs. This is just a matter of plain old nosiness. Ideally, the offending in-law should be told to back off the situation, but they often are not. The fights and the conflict get worse because one spouse won't stick up for the other.
The last of the marriage issues listed here is adultery. With higher statistics reported, this means that more people are choosing to commit adultery. Of course, men lead the way here as well. This doesn't mean that women are far behind. This issue is related to number two. The reasons men cheat are tied to lack of sex. For women, however, it is more based on lack of emotional support. Either member may start looking for the missing piece beyond their marriage and then are eventually discovered.
