Acne is usually perceived to be a disease with only physical effects but it also has mental effects, mainly in youths. Most teenagers for certain feel awkward and mismatched. In this article I am going to explain the significance of few acne treatments in accordance with your skin condition and I will also explain some of the things that you must avoid in order to get rid of acne.
Some of the main stream medications for acne include over the counter (OTC) acne treatment products, homemade remedies for acne, prescription acne medication and laser acne treatments. You are probably aware of a lot of OTC acne treatments. Skin specialists and dermatologists believe that among OTC acne treatments, products with benzoyl peroxide are the most effective acne treatment products, so what lead dermatologists to believe this?, Well, it is the fact that benzoyl peroxide is effective in controlling excess oil that clog the pores of your skin which in turn causes acne, benzoyl peroxide also fights the bacteria that causes acne. For a lenient skin condition an OTC acne treatment product with 2.5% concentration of bezoyl peroxide is good, though it shall also work for severe acne but would take a relatively longer time to show some progress. It is also a good idea to use an over the counter chemical exfoliant such as salicylic acid or glycolic acid to regularly remove dead skin cells by exfoliating. If you do not find benzoyl peroxide effective enough you can try other products that have sulfur or resorcinol.
Good care of your skin will enhance the healing process. You will be able to feel a difference in your skin condition as it gets more toned. On the other hand, if you are being careless and mistreating your skin through any of the following actions, your acne will only get worse.
Use of Topical Creams:
Topical creams as the name suggest are designed to get rid of visible characteristics of acne. These creams cause your skin get thin and therefore sometimes worsen acne. Topical creams only treat the symptoms of acne but not the cause of acne. A much safer alternative is to use the natural ingredients. Natural ingredients are slow to show desired effects but they do not have any side effects.
Shaving With Multiple Blade Razors:
If your skin is affected with bums and cyst, multiple blade razors can cause serious harm to your skin. You might end up getting scars on your face which are not easy to get rid of. Multiple blade razor also causes irritation. Therefore it is better to stick with single blade razor
Smoking:
Most of us are aware of the bad effects on our health that smoking causes, what many do not know is that this habit can also devastate the good looks of your skin. Smoking not only dehydrates but also deprives your skin of oxygen. Smoking also causes premature skin aging. If you quit smoking you can notice a significant enhancement in your complexion only over the course of few months.
Squeezing And Popping:
Most of the acne sufferers have one worst habit and that is popping and squeezing pimples, If you cannot get rid of this habit you can’t get rid of acne, so the first thing is stop popping pimples, stop squeezing them and best of all stop touching them except when you have to apply some medication on them.
