The Workings Of Backing Up Movies From Your Video Camera To A Little DVD

Posted By: | Posted On: | Article ID:

Mini DVDs are very cute and if you have a video camera, you will certainly appreciate them a lot because they allow you to store so much information. But when you have a bunch of mini DVDs, you start wondering if there is a way to make all this information more compact by copying the contents of the mini DVD to a normal DVD.

Burning copy protected DVD is a lot easier said than done. Putting a much loved video on a blank disc is the ideal means of having an extra copy, when the original simply wears out or gets damaged beyond viewing. Sure, users can polish and repair a few scratches, but eventually all the tricks in the world will not work, and the favored movie or recording is lost forever. If one is lucky, a new copy is just a store away. But, what if it is an older DVD that is no longer available on the market? Now what?

Video cameras are a great technological invention and thanks to it your memories can live for decades. However, you will hardly want your memories to be buried inside the camera. This is somehow inconvenient, especially when you want to show your videos to somebody, who is thousand miles away. Sending the video camera itself is not an option, so you obviously need to find a way to get your videos from inside the camera.

One of the media, which you can move your videos to is a normal-sized DVD. When you transfer the videos from your camera to a DVD, you can watch them on a TV set or on your computer, without the need to take the camera with you. Also, you can make copies of the video and give them to your friends and relatives.

Actually, the process is a lot easier than trying to make a copy of a regular DVD that has been copyright protected. You do not have to purchase decrypting software. However, moving information from one disc to another will have its own set of challenges.

The first challenge is that it might not be possible to play your Mini DVD on your computer's player. In this case, you can try playing it on your desktop or on your laptop. The second challenge is that you must have a DVD burner. If everything is in place, you can connect the video camera to your computer and start copying the videos to your hard disk. After that you can use a video processing program to edit the movies and possibly compress them, if they are too large. The last step is to burn all this on a blank DVD.

Now that you know the basic answer to the question: how do I copy a mini DVD, enjoy your vacations and special events to the fullest. Take video after video. You can always transfer mini DVDs to one regular DVD. Plus, you can edit out all of the segments not meant for keeps. Then, you can make copies for friends and family, or watch on the television or computer whenever you choose.
