The Secret Of Learning Blues

How do you begin to make good blues music? Before you start doing a blues guitar solo in front of that crowd, you had better think twice. If you don't want the crowd to demand that you leave, you'd better bring your ace game into the gig. In order for that to happen, you'll need to brush up on a bit of blues guitar lessons to get you in the right track of things. You see, impressing the crowd with your blues guitar is a bit more difficult than just following the chords in a guitar book.

Any live performance of the blues has to be progressive-and that means, you'll need to come up with a spontaneous sound when you get on the stage. For beginners, this usually ends in tears because the inability to build up and release the tension through music is a pretty big challenge in itself. But this is something that you should be able to do before you can rightfully call yourself a blues musician.

A great guitar solo is actually a mix-and-match collection of blues licks. So before you can attempt to be a performer, you'll need to brush up on those licks. In order to do that, you need to download those backing tracks and listen to them carefully. After a while, you should start practicing them on your own. Play it by the ear and see what fits, what sounds good. When you've done that, you have pretty much mastered the technique of combining blues licks. You can now start building up your own solo.

You see, each track actually contains one or several blues licks. These licks are a segment of notes that you play during the solo. However, it doesn't end there. Once you've downloaded these backing tracks, you'll need to study them one by one. You have to be able to identify the different combinations that they employ during a performance. This is something that cannot be taught through words that's why blues guitar lessons are more hands-on. You need to see the example and then practice them on your own-otherwise, you'll never learn.
