The Basic Do's and Do Not's Of Exercising

Just like with anything else there are certain rules associated with anything. Exercising or starting workouts is not an exception and there are some standard set of rules that apply to workouts and exercising. When we say exercising we don't necessarily mean exercising for muscle building or weight loss. Muscle building exercises are just a small set of the entire universe of exercising. You might be exercising for muscle building/ weight loss/ fitness level/ building stamina/ to cope up with stress, the list goes on and on. Exercising is definitely a panacea to a lot of ailments. Anyhow out here are just a few very briefly illustrated do's and don'ts of exercising.

#1) Consult your physician or trainer: Yes, this is necessary. Before you beginning your gym membership or starting weight lifting, its important that you consult your physician and take his advice. Might sound an hindrance to your newly found fitness enthusiasm but precaution is better than cure. Let your physician inspect you and provide you with a clear green signal.

#2) Make it fun: When we say that we mean that your exercise schedule should not be like your work routine, boring and hectic. It should be like a break, short and enjoyable. Engage in the activity you like. So, if you enjoy swimming then do that as an exercise routine. Learn some new tricks that make you flex your muscles more. Similarly, bicycling or going for jogging in the morning with a new partner will make it really more attractive and pleasant experience. Remember, weight lifting is not the only form of exercise unless you are looking for muscle building. Engaging in any kind of sports that makes you perspire and your muscles work will help your body stay much fitter and better.

#3) Don't sprint on the first day: Yes, this is one of the main key points. Its the reason that most fitness enthusiast go back on their fitness plans. You see, initially when you think of muscle building, bodybuilding or fat loss, you are all charged up with mental images of those model like figures and how people will think of you. So, the first day most of the people put in a lot of extra commitment to run an extra mile. They will stay over an hour in gym. They will be controlling each of their craving. They will be cycling faster than everybody else or swimming even when others have come and gone by. They plan to put up a pound of extra muscle or burn a few hundred calories the first day itself. However, it exhausts them a little too much. The next day their body feels its a tiring activity and their mind resents it. The enthusiasm of being fit or muscular is suppressed by the fatigue, and the workout routine goes into to-do list. The lesson is simple, start slow and gradually build it up. Don't overdo till the time you have started to enjoy it.

#4) Don't try to be brave: Just note down this key point and you will definitely save on some injuries. If you have gone for your workouts or exercises and find yourself ailing over some muscle pain or joints pain, don't ignore it. Most of the people experience some kind of pain when they start exercising. A part of it is natural as your muscles start adjusting but that is a very fine threshold. If the pain seems to go past that threshold then get a checkup. You might have strained some muscle, or you might be suffering from something. To ignore this kind of issue would be foolish and you might be preparing yourself for some bigger injury.

If you are looking for muscle building then the suggestion is simple. Follow only good bodybuilding programs. Don't go for just random workouts or don't just jump over some information available on a bodybuilding web site. Even for a bodybuilding program, the first point is very crucial. You should definitely consult a doctor or physician before beginning any program. Also, buy a bodybuilding program of some repute. Don't just buy on anything fancy.
