Stop Searching For the Fountain of Youth - We Have Found It

Posted By: | Posted On: | Article ID:

We all face the demands of a busy lifestyle and other realities that lead to pushing physical activity way down the list of priorities. Rationally, we know we should take better care of ourselves by exercising and eating better, but those things often seem to get lost in our time stretched day-to-day lives.

It's easy to keep putting it off but what is actually happening to our body and our health while we try to find the time to practice this self care. Do we believe that as time slips by our body is just frozen in time waiting for us to get moving? Well it isn't, it is fading rapidly.

It is surprising that many so people view proper exercise as ‘optional'. Maybe they don't fully understand what happens to the human body without it. Your muscles if not challenged will shrink and become flabby and weak. Muscle is just the beginning; lack of the right physical activity negatively affects the brain, blood vessels, bones, liver, gut, sleep, self-esteem and your ability to use glucose.

Your metabolism (the body's engine) slows and excess body fat starts to accumulate changing your body shape and appearance for the worst. Your heart and lungs function less efficiently and your joints become stiff and easily injured.

From the top of your head to your toes, being physically active is the stimulus that gets the systems and organs in the body to function at their best. Only vigorous physical activity can stimulate the necessary hormones (chemical messengers) that instruct all cells, tissues, organs and systems to repair, rebuild and renew themselves.

If this is not happening accelerated aging will occur which siphons away a person's vitality and zest for living along with exposing them to a greater risk of disease or illness that could well cut life short by years or even decades.

Just a couple of sessions each week with a proper exercise program that contains at least 60% strength training exercise will slow, stop or even reverse these negative changes.
It costs much less to stay strong and fit than it does to heal health ailments or complications brought on by assuming that you can get away with a no exercise lifestyle.

There is no other type of exercise that will be able to duplicate the beneficial hormonal effects of strength training exercise. Low intensity type activities like walking or cycling etc are great recreational activities to add to an active lifestyle but cannot replace a proper exercise program.

The power of proper exercise can transform bodies from the inside out, restoring health, improving function, preventing disease and knocking off years of sedentary living from a person's life. This simple formula could be called a fountain of youth accessible to everyone to add many benefits to their lives.

The high cost of inactivity is not a cost that most of us can afford. To value your own body and to provide it knowledge, proper exercise and good nutrition is the least expensive commodity.

It is also the highest calling or responsibility we can have to ourselves, after all if we don't take care of our health, who else is going too? The bottom line - exercise is not an optional luxury but good health is.

Do not allow inactivity to erode your strength, fitness and health that you now enjoy. So take it upon yourself to just do it to protect your future.
