Spyware Removal - Shield Desktops

If you are like most people, you have spent hundreds (maybe even thousands) of dollars on your computer system. Also, like many people today, you may rely on it heavily to keep your life organized. Many people store all of their important personal information on their computers. Millions of people use their computers to perform all facets of banking including deposits, withdrawals and paying bills. In the blink of an eye, spyware can invade your computer and cause more havoc than you might have realized was possible.

No one asked your permission to do this and, chances are, you may not know about spyware. Spyware does exist, affects most computers and can cause annoyance, irritation and (in some cases) serious damage.

The most common use for spyware is to track your internet habits. Yes, each time you log onto the internet, spyware may be recording your every move and relaying that information to an interested third party. Who wants to know exactly what sites you visit? Usually, the third parties receiving your records are advertisers who want to know about your browsing and/or shopping habits. That way, they can pitch their products to you on a very regular basis sometimes many emails each day.

Spyware can gain access to your email inbox and some programs can decipher your personal passwords thats a frightening thought. Computer viruses can be attached to spyware that can cause serious damage to your computer.

You are not alone in the war on spyware, though, and that is good news. Many companies now produce very effective antispyware programs. These programs are available for immediate download and use. The best part of the whole deal is they are available for free no cost to you whatsoever. Whichever antispyware program you choose will provide security to you, your computer and your personal information.

Remember to download the antispyware on each of your computers. If you have more than one in your home, download the program to each. The same goes for office computers (though you might check with your office administrator before downloading any software) and any laptops that you or your family may own.

You may ask friends or coworkers which antispyware programs they use and what their level of satisfaction is. PC World Magazine has studied and highly ranked the following: Windows Defender (excellent, especially if you often work in Windows), CW Shredder (a favorite among some because of many extra features), Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Adware 2007. You cannot go wrong with any of these programs. Each has been downloaded many hundreds of thousands of times and the consumers are generally very pleased.

It is just plain good common sense to take advantage of the wonderful antispyware that is available. Download the program you select to each of your computers and rest assured you have added security.
