You can protect your computer and perhaps just as important, your personal data, by installing free spyware removal programs. If you are operating your computer without this protection, you are taking a great risk. Adware is responsible for the pop-up ads that seem to come from nowhere and populate your entire desktop. As soon as you close out of one pop-up ad, another one or two or ten pop up in its place. The computer user is so busy trying to close the pop-ups they cannot perform any work, access their email or chat with friends.

Why is it called �spyware�? Because, the program actually �spies� on you. Your every movement, while on the internet is recorded. What sites you visit, what you do when you are there, what you buy, how much you spend (and more) is recorded for distribution to a third party. This third party pays for the information because once they can see your browsing and/or shopping habits; they know what you are likely to buy from them. For instance, if your search shoe sites frequently, spyware will record this, sell it to a third party (usually advertising companies or retailers) and you�ll begin to get a barrage of emails trying to sell you shoes.

Not only does spyware allow adware to inundate you with unwanted ads, it also has a negative effect on your computer. Your computer may begin to run extremely slow as a result of this intrusion. In some cases spyware can cause you entire system to crash � causing permanent damage.
