Hemorrhoids Can Be Caused By Physical Exertion

Being I have personally dealt with hemorrhoids, When I first realized I had one I was making changes to our bathroom during the time that my wife and children where gone for a week. I was working 8 hours at my day job then coming home and working 6-8 hours on our house. I was physically very tired. It all started when I began feeling a itch around my rectum, however, I would never have thought it was hemorrhoids.

After defecating, I realized that there was an extremely sore bump down there. I finally located a tube of hemorrhoidal ointment in the bathroom cupboard. For the following couple of days, I applied the preparation, which somewhat alleviated my pain. Nevertheless, the bump persisted. I went on with the remodeling work, which probably increased the soreness.

After about a week, I started doing some internet research on hemorrhoids and determined that I ought to go see my physician. He verified that I had hemorrhoids and suggested a small procedure to help relieve the pressure. This involved numbing that area with a local anesthetic followed by making a tiny incision to allow the pressure to be relieved and allow the swelling to subside.

Probably a year or more later, I was called to the Gulf Coast to work with hurricane recovery efforts. During that time I was working about twenty hours per day and sleeping in my truck. It took about a week, but I did begin to feel that familiar itching sensation that I learned to associate with hemorrhoids. I visited my doctor again when I returned home and he performed the same procedure as he did previously.

This time my doctor prescribed hemorrhoidal foam that I was to use three times per day or as needed. The foam had a minor pain killer in it as well as an agent that shrinks the tissue to reduce swelling and allow the wound to heal. The foam was much more helpful in relieving discomfort than any of the creams I had tried.

Although I know there are many causes of hemorrhoids, mine were directly related to physical exertion. The last time I saw my doctor for this issue was over two years ago. Since the last occurrence, I have made a point to slow down and relax any time I fell itching in that area. For me, that is a sign that I am over-exerting myself. So far, I think that strategy is working for me.

Being no stranger to hemorrhoids I can tell you that overwork can cause them. I applied the hemorrhoidal ointment, which somewhat alleviated my pain. It took a week for me to get to the point where I turned to the Internet for information, and I scheduled an appointment with my doctor. He officially diagnosed it as hemmorhoids and suggested an outpatient surgical procedure. Even though there are many things that can cause such sickness, I knew mine were from actual physical exertion. After the last incident, I've made a point of paying attention to my body and taking it easy whenever I feel itching in that area.
