Ever since the dawn of civilization, man has been hunting for a media to express his feelings. In the initial stages of civilization when there were neither words nor languages it was through gestures and facial expressions that human beings used to express his/ her feelings. The paintings in the caves are a result of someone trying to express his/ her feelings. When the words and languages came into existence, the humans started using sentences and words for expressing their feelings. Letters dominated the scene of expressing the feelings for a long time followed by the era of internet. Today is the age of mobiles, computers and the internet.
Messaging someone has become very common especially those with the mobiles. Earlier messaging meant the use of letters and words for expressing the feelings. This is called Text Messaging. The situation has drastically changed the art of messaging has evolved to be one of the best means of expressing one's feeling.
Now when one wants to express his feeling, language is no barrier for him or her. The local language can be written in the roman script and when it is pronounced it is the local language. This has enabled people to write or construct message in English but read in any local language. Feeling just knows and understands the language of heart.
Nowadays the message that fits your feeling can be composed very quickly. One can express one's feelings just by the touch of a button. It is not necessary to express one's feeling in English only. The text message can be English but the pronunciation can be a local language.
When you run short of words to express your feeling, you can use the smiley. A smiley is a symbol emoticon, usually in the form of :-), for the purpose of communicating feelings such as humor, approval, or pleasure. The smiley has facilitated the expression of the feeling in messaging.
Readymade messages that need no composing can be purchased from the net and send to the intended receiver. Many poetries and shiaries are available on the net. One has to just download them and send them to the recipient. One can send a message of cupid to his / her lover on Valentine's Day. This message can not only have the text buy also an image of rose along with it. One can store and retrieve Text from computer.
Nowadays there are websites having the collection of messages meant for every walk of life. You must be aware that one can send message from the internet too. Messaging from the internet is also called Online Text Messaging. What one has to do is select the most appropriate message from the list of messages and send them to the intended recipients from the internet. SMSs emailed from the email box or online are called Email SMS and Online SMS respectively.
