When adult movies On Demand had first come on to the scene, adult shows averaged buy rates of 8 12%. Now, with so many options and choices in adult content, shows only average rates of 2 3%.

Adult movies on demand have the support of an overwhelming majority of the public. A main reason for this is the capability of parental restrictions to keep the pornography away from young eyes that should not be exposed to it. Because of this security feature, many people think that the possibility of government intervention to restrict the adult movies on demand is low. On the plus side for the adult movies on demand companies, the more erotic the content of a porn show is, the more they can charge for viewers to order it, and viewers absolutely pay up. Playboy averages buy rates that are higher than most other channels, averaging 15 20%. However, charges for explicit shows on Playboy are actually cheaper than most other, even more erotic shows.

Adult movies on demand has become a viewer controlled business. Reports estimate that out of all of the on demand content available, the adult pornography genre generates a whopping 53% of all revenue earned, more than any other genre.
